6th roar [ video + action for violet ]

[ The feed starts with a very enthusiastic GOOOOO LEOOOON from a certain excited ninja. The first shot is of Lightning, who is glaring Yuffie down from the next seat over. Giggling and cheering, Yuffie turns the gear towards the match in progress. Noctowl and Honchkrow have presumably already been taken down, as currently Skarmory is facing down Falkner's Pidgeot. Both birds are in flight over the arena, but Pidgeot is slightly wobbly from poison; it's clear that Flood did a number on it already.

Yuffie is making obnoxious commentary a full play-by-play as the match continues; both pokemon have used Agility repeatedly, and the result is difficult to follow. One second Skarmory is diving for Pidgeot, the next Pidgeot is slamming its wing into Skarmory's head. Unfortunately for Pidgeot, its efforts are in vain: Skarmory has the type advantage. Skarmory uses Pidgeot's proximity to catch it in her talons, and unleashes a hideous Metal Sound at point-blank range. Pidgeot screams and flails away, causing Skarmory to lose her balance; their talons still twined, they go plummeting down in a cloud of blades and feathers.

Skarmory's metal shell means the impact doesn't bother her much; Pidgeot, on the other hand, poisoned and dizzy, is out. Yuffie gives a shrill whistle, effectively drowning out Lightning's own cheer. Skarmory shrieks triumphantly before she and Pidgeot go back to their respective pokeballs. The feed clicks out. ]

[You did it Leon! Yuffie's pumped up and excited. Laughingly and cheering she jogs over to throw an arm around him almost dropping his gear, but not quite.]

THAT WAS AWESOME! That was the most awesome thing I've seen since I got here! Way to go! [She throws her other hand up in another cheer. ]

[ Yuffie pounces him just as Falkner slips the badge into his hand, so Leon is a bit worried about it slipping out when she knocks him off-balance. ]

[She grins then leans to look at the badge before he puts it away.]

Oooh! Shiny! Mind if I see it? [She's giving him a probably familiar mischievous look, and she doesn't expect him to say yes, though she's tempted to swipe it anyway. Don't look at her like that, she'd give it back....eventually.]

[ He gives her a very long appraising look, before extending his palm to her with the badge in it. He trusts his Yuffie not to steal things--he and Aerith took years to get her out of it--but he has to remind himself that this isn't his Yuffie. ]

You can look all you like. [ 'But don't touch' is the implication. ]

[She's heading down from the bleachers now. Her ears are still ringing from all of Yuffie's cheering, but...well, she can't help the tiny smile on her face as she hops down and walks towards him. Leon had trained his team well.]

[ He catches her eye, a smirk playing at the edge of his lips. Instead of pinning the Zephyr badge, he slips into a pocket of his bag, where there's no chance he'll lose it. ]

Thanks. They worked hard for this. [ 'They' being his pokemon, of course. They're the ones who did all the work, after all. ]

[She nods; here, no matter how strong they are, it's the Pokemon that matter.]

You trained them well. It wouldn't have gone this way without that training.

[ He answers with a nod of his own, playing with Skarmory's pokeball. ] They're a good team. I should get them to the--

[ He's interrupted by Falkner, returning from having dispatched his own team to the center. The gym leader extends a small disc, which Leon accepts. Falkner explains that it's a Technical Machine, containing the move Roost, which allows a Flying pokemon to heal during battle. Leon examines the prize, curious but skeptical. ]

How do I use it?

Well, you just...break it over the head of the pokemon you want to teach it to.

[ It's too bad Yuffie hadn't filmed from the beginning; they would've been able to see Flood pull an impressive SuperSonic/Wrap/Acid Bomb combo on Falkner's Noctowl. Poor bird didn't even know what hit it. ]
