6th roar [ video + action for violet ]

[ The feed starts with a very enthusiastic GOOOOO LEOOOON from a certain excited ninja. The first shot is of Lightning, who is glaring Yuffie down from the next seat over. Giggling and cheering, Yuffie turns the gear towards the match in progress. Noctowl and Honchkrow have presumably already been taken down, as currently Skarmory is facing down Falkner's Pidgeot. Both birds are in flight over the arena, but Pidgeot is slightly wobbly from poison; it's clear that Flood did a number on it already.

Yuffie is making ~~obnoxious commentary~~ a full play-by-play as the match continues; both pokemon have used Agility repeatedly, and the result is difficult to follow. One second Skarmory is diving for Pidgeot, the next Pidgeot is slamming its wing into Skarmory's head. Unfortunately for Pidgeot, its efforts are in vain: Skarmory has the type advantage. Skarmory uses Pidgeot's proximity to catch it in her talons, and unleashes a hideous Metal Sound at point-blank range. Pidgeot screams and flails away, causing Skarmory to lose her balance; their talons still twined, they go plummeting down in a cloud of blades and feathers.

Skarmory's metal shell means the impact doesn't bother her much; Pidgeot, on the other hand, poisoned and dizzy, is out. Yuffie gives a shrill whistle, effectively drowning out Lightning's own cheer. Skarmory shrieks triumphantly before she and Pidgeot go back to their respective pokeballs. The feed clicks out. ]

Yeah, she mentioned it to me once. That's how we figured out we must not be from the same points in time.

She told you about the invasion, then?

If I remember right, she said Maleficent was involved. Geez, she's been stirring up trouble for ages.

[ A short nod. The seed was planted before Maleficent got there--she just struck the killing blow. ]

She's given you guys problems, too?

[ He wrinkles his nose. That's, what? Eleven, twelve years she's been at it and no one's managed to finish her off? The lady's a cockroach. ]

[He nods]

She stole Princess Aurora's heart. I've got no idea what she wanted to do with it, but when I went to get it back from her, she kept trying to blame Terra.

Which makes me think she gave him trouble too.

[ Because if he did, it didn't last very long. ]

Yeah, I fought her and got it back to Aurora.

[He tried so hard and got so far...and then KHI happened]

[ Leon looks away, frowning. He debates asking Ventus about it, wondering if it's not too much to pile on. Still, he needs to know. ]

Well, whatever you did, it didn't last. Maleficent took it back--I couldn't tell you exactly when. Aurora lost her heart and her world. [ It was after the fall of Radiant Garden, he's sure of that much; Aurora's world, like so many others, had been consumed by Heartless. ]

[Oh my gosh did you just kick one hundred and one puppies? Because the look on his face sure makes it seem that way]

Her whole world? What happened?

[ fhdjskfhdsajkfhajk ]

The same thing that happened to Radiant Garden; the Heartless.

[Sorry Leon, this just makes him so sad]

Why're there so many of them in worlds that were full of light?

Because normal weapons aren't effective against them; the most we can do is destroy them until they manifest again. The only thing that sends them away permanently is a keyblade.

But Terra and Aqua would've come to help...

[Which suddenly has him wondering where they went during all this]

[ Leon shakes his head. ]

Radiant Garden fell because there were no keyblade bearers to save it, Ven. [ His tone isn't accusing, only tired. ] We waited nearly a decade for Sora to arrive; until then, the only keyblade wielder was the King.

[ A pause. ] Ven...what happened to you three?

[That's troubling indeed, and his brow furrows as he takes this in]

I...think I know what'll happen to me, but...

[ The implications are pretty horrible, and Leon does feel a bit bad that he brought it up. ]

You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

[There's a soft sigh. He doesn't mind, really, only...]

I just don't want Terra to hear about it. He's pretty determined to help me, but this time...he can't. I get the feeling Aqua knows.

[ Leon nods briefly. ]

If he comes back here--I won't tell him a thing. You have my word.

[He really does appreciate it, as much is evident in his tone. After a pause, he lets out a small sigh]

It's...a bit complicated, but Ma- [No, after what he's done, Ven doesn't want to use the title] Xehanort, he...wanted to use me to make this weapon. A very special keyblade, one that'd drag all sorts of worlds into some crazy war again.

[Not just some legend, no]

A weapon?

[ Xehanort. The apprentice? The man who stole Ansem's name and made a Heartless and Nobody out of himself? Leon has few doubts that they're one and the same. ]

What war are you talking about?

[ He wishes he didn't feel quite so blind. He's used to being the one to give information, not receive it. ]

[And yet they are. Only Nomura would do this]

The χ-blade. If what Xehanort said was true, it's the cause of the keyblade war from ages ago.

[ Few doubts, not a few doubts. But still--oh, Nomura. ]

A keyblade war...? [ This is his first time hearing about this. He tries to think of any time the king might have mentioned a conflict, but nothing comes up. ] And how did he go about creating the...χ-blade?

[...Reading is a tricky art indeed. Can't even blame the hour for this, so let's blame Nomura some more]

He needed a heart of pure light and one of pure darkness, so he extracted the darkness from my heart and made somebody else.
