[ The feed starts with a very enthusiastic GOOOOO LEOOOON from a certain excited ninja. The first shot is of Lightning, who is glaring Yuffie down from the next seat over. Giggling and cheering, Yuffie turns the gear towards the match in progress. Noctowl and Honchkrow have presumably already been taken down, as currently Skarmory is facing down Falkner's Pidgeot. Both birds are in flight over the arena, but Pidgeot is slightly wobbly from poison; it's clear that Flood did a number on it already.

Yuffie is making ~~obnoxious commentary~~ a full play-by-play as the match continues; both pokemon have used Agility repeatedly, and the result is difficult to follow. One second Skarmory is diving for Pidgeot, the next Pidgeot is slamming its wing into Skarmory's head. Unfortunately for Pidgeot, its efforts are in vain: Skarmory has the type advantage. Skarmory uses Pidgeot's proximity to catch it in her talons, and unleashes a hideous Metal Sound at point-blank range. Pidgeot screams and flails away, causing Skarmory to lose her balance; their talons still twined, they go plummeting down in a cloud of blades and feathers.

Skarmory's metal shell means the impact doesn't bother her much; Pidgeot, on the other hand, poisoned and dizzy, is out. Yuffie gives a shrill whistle, effectively drowning out Lightning's own cheer. Skarmory shrieks triumphantly before she and Pidgeot go back to their respective pokeballs. The feed clicks out. ]

Skarmory should make quick work of the bugs, I think. [ ~~sob so oblivious to your scheming, Cecil~~ Immune to poison and resistant to bug. Awwwww yeah, double type advantage. ] She can heal now, thanks to the new ability we got from Falkner.

'Roost', right? Does it work well? I was thinking about teaching it to Esuna, but I'm not sure if grounding her for a few moments is a good thing.

Can't hurt to add something to their moveset, can it? It would just have to be used with caution, that's all. I wish I could report more, but I haven't seen it in action yet.

I certainly agree with diversivying their movesets. Though it makes me wonder how exactly those circles can teach them new attacks.

I get how the disk can contain information--but how the heck does breaking it over their head do anything?

...Magic? [Cecil has no idea either.]

I'm sure there is another explanation that the locals would find perfectly normal, but I'm afraid I cannot think of one.

Well, there are plenty of things that pass for normal here.

You're probably right. All of us are from vastly different places. [ He's just had this conversation with Kay, who is apparently from an unknown, mythical place called 'California'. ]

I wonder if there's a common thread to all the worlds? Something that everyone shares, no matter what?

[ He tilts his head; maybe someone like Sora or Ventus could come up with 'love', 'mercy' or compassion right off the bat, but it doesn't occur to Leon to think so abstractly. ]

You mean something that would cause us to be pulled here?

Not necessarily, though a common link would explain why we were all brought here. I was thinking more of a constant, something that is necessary for a world to exist and nurture inhabitants.

[ Leon frowns. Like, gravity? Air? Water...? ]

[He laughs a little.] Hypothetically. I've not yet heard of a world that has no plants or animals.

Does your world have something like that--something that keeps its inhabitants going?

[His smile is soft, and somewhat sad.] Hope and faith, at this point. Perhaps some belief, too.

[ It's not entirely lost on Leon. ] Did something happen?

Enemies from the moon, powerful world-threatening monsters, soil-corroding meteors. The usual. [Except worse. But he doesn't want to say it.] Let's just say my friends and I will have a lot to do once I return home.

All of those at once? Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. [ Leon can sympathize. ]

There are twenty-two of us fighting this time. We should be able to manage, unless they bring the homicidal giant robot out again.

[ Leon has to bite back a snort when Cecil mentions the homicidal giant robot. ]

Well, depending on how big of a world it is, twenty-two might not be such a big number.

[ He and Yuffie do the overwhelming majority of the fighting in Radiant Garden, but there are less than a hundred people living there at the moment. When you factor in Cloud, and the occasional help from Sora, they're more than enough. ]

My world is rather big, indeed. But there were five of us, last time. Twenty-two is quite the improvement.

[~~Then again, last time they could go back to the planet for grinding and supplies. And the final dungeon was shorter. And it didn't have over thirty boss fights.~~]

Well, if you did it with five, it should be a piece of cake with twenty-two.
