[ The feed clicks on, revealing a very familiar voice; eventually the camera function starts up, zooming in and out on the neckline of a white t-shirt. After a few moments, the person holding the device seems to be satisfied that they've figured out all its functions, and the camera pans up to finally reveal one scarred, frowning face. The eyes are dark, the brow only slightly furrowed; while Leon's face is difficult to read on a good day, he looks particularly subdued today. Anyone familiar with him knows this is because he is royally pissed. ]

If the words 'Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee' ring any bells, now'd be a good time to speak up. I--hey, careful.

[ A massive metal shape comes into view--Skarmory's head, peering down at the camera. Those big blue eyes are bright and alert, seeming incredibly out of place in a face that looks like it could rip someone in half. Skarmory makes a raucous, curious noise, somewhere between a chirp and grinding sawblades. Leon gently but firmly uses his arm to push the bird out of the way. ]

Anyone with any clear information on what to do with--that-- [ He glances away from the camera; it's pretty clear he's talking about Skarmory. ] --would be appreciated.

[ A pause. ]

Thank you.

[ The feed clicks off. ]

[Ven remains quiet for a few moments, counting off on his fingers]

I think it's a week or so, if you don't stay in Cherrygrove for long. That's the city between where you're at and Violet.

Aerith's talked to me over these gears a few times, and she's really helped me out in the past. There're a lot of nice people here, but she's been especially kind.

[ He nods. That sounds like his Aerith, all right. ] And how long have you been here? [ That'll give him a better idea of how long Aerith's been here. ]

[Ven smiles as he says that. Then he looks down for a few moments, a thoughtful frown crossing over his features]

[ A slow exhale. Be calm, Leonhart. If these people aren't freaking out, then things can't be all that bad. ] I just hope my city is still in one piece when I get back, then.

There're people who left here and came back, and the ones who remember being here say they returned to the same moment they were taken from.

I think when we go home, we forget all this. The people we met, and the memories we've made. Like it never happened.

Sometimes when people disappear for a long while, they'll show up again and they don't remember anything about Johto.

[ That makes it sound like some kind of trippy vacation. Forgetting about people doesn't sound so bad to him, since he just got here. Still, Leon can imagine. ]

But even if I do forget someday, it's alright. My friends and I will still be connected, so it's not like they're really gone.

[Ven's eyebrows lift just a little as he's briefly surprised. But since they seem to be from the same set of worlds, it's not all that strange]

His name's Sora. [ Someone knowing Sora would surprise Leon a lot less than someone knowing Aerith, but still, he doesn't really expect it to ring any bells. ]

[ Few people who've met Sora don't think the world of him. He has that effect. ]

Seems like a regular party. Makes me wonder if anyone else I know is here.

Maybe, but you have to be careful about stuff like that. Sometimes you'll meet people who look the same as your friends, but they're from someplace else.

For example, when I got here a lot of people thought I was Roxas, but he and I don't even know each other.

Don't think I've ever met a Roxas, but I'll keep that in mind. Apparently there's a guy running around with my face.

There is? I guess that's not too surprising. I've met a Cloud that isn't Aerith's Cloud, and I've got a friend named Zack who tells me there's another, older Zack here.

This place is a bit weird, but most everybody's pretty friendly.
