[ The feed clicks on, revealing a very familiar voice; eventually the camera function starts up, zooming in and out on the neckline of a white t-shirt. After a few moments, the person holding the device seems to be satisfied that they've figured out all its functions, and the camera pans up to finally reveal one scarred, frowning face. The eyes are dark, the brow only slightly furrowed; while Leon's face is difficult to read on a good day, he looks particularly subdued today. Anyone familiar with him knows this is because he is royally pissed. ]

If the words 'Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee' ring any bells, now'd be a good time to speak up. I--hey, careful.

[ A massive metal shape comes into view--Skarmory's head, peering down at the camera. Those big blue eyes are bright and alert, seeming incredibly out of place in a face that looks like it could rip someone in half. Skarmory makes a raucous, curious noise, somewhere between a chirp and grinding sawblades. Leon gently but firmly uses his arm to push the bird out of the way. ]

Anyone with any clear information on what to do with--that-- [ He glances away from the camera; it's pretty clear he's talking about Skarmory. ] --would be appreciated.

[ A pause. ]

Thank you.

[ The feed clicks off. ]

The bird says so. [ Leon nods. A split second later Skarmory tries to imitate him, drawing herself up and giving her best impression of a stately nod. ]

What about yours? [ He motions to Murkrow. ]

What, him? [ Kay glances at her partner, then attempts to straighten herself up to look grand and dignified.

It might not work. ]

He's a Murkrow, but his name's Byrne. And he's my valued partner!

[ She reminds him of Sora; the corners of his mouth rise slightly. ]

'Valued partner', huh? And what's your name?

Kay Faraday! Just call me Kay, 'kay? [ there's a reason Sora's her pun apprentice. She's dropping her awful attempt to be dignified and grinning instead. ] Nice to meet you, Whoever you are, and Skarmory!

[adamant]

[ A pun apprentice? This can only end in tears. ]

[ Amused huff. ] Thanks for the offer. You've been here a while, then?

Four months, actually. I feel like a professional kidnapped victim.

[ And suddenly, it clicks; Kay doesn't remind him of Sora, she reminds him of Yuffie! And that's...mostly a good thing... ]

I'm sure you're not the only one. Still, it can't be that bad. [ Kay definitely doesn't seem unhappy... ]

I've got stuff to do back home, though... so I just have to think of this like a long vacation!

I've been told that when you go back, it's as if you never left. Maybe that does make it a long vacation. [ Still seems fishy to him. ]

[ Makes him realize how lucky he is to have Aerith and Sora. ] No one from home here with you?

... That's kind of hard to explain. There are people from there, but it's my first time meeting a lot of them. And the ones I do know, I don't know too well. And Mr. Edgeworth's only ten here, when he's normally in his twenties.

No, I get what you mean. I've been meeting a lot of friends-of-friends, myself. [ And that's without the whole Squall debacle. ]
