[ The feed clicks on to Leon sounding...rather terse. Moreso than usual, at any rate. ]

Now that Aerith's in town, I'd like to head back up to Goldenrod. As soon as possible; maybe tomorrow.

[ Yes, he's on edge because of the Rocket stuff, but there's too many potentially interested people to filter this, so he'd rather not mention it because he's pretty sure they're tracking things. ]

It'd take about five days, going through the northern passage. Who's interested?

When are you planning to leave tomorrow?

Depends on when everyone's ready. I'd like to leave in the morning, but that probably won't happen. Early afternoon, I guess?

[She's still working on that, really.]

Yeah. Getting Yuffie up early doesn't seem like it would be easy. [Which just leaves her and her...ducklings, was it?] I'll talk to Serah and Hope tonight and let you know how things go.

And that's a sigh.] Sleeps like a log, can sneak up behind you, and she's loud enough to wake the dead if she just shouts. [Headshake. Leon, your family is...rather insane, really.] I'm amazed she's lasted this long without someone knocking that out of her.

It's...part of the package, I guess. [ A small shrug. ] She can be serious when she needs to be, and she's good at what she does.

[ Secretly? A part of him will always see that shellshocked child she was, rather than the rambunctious, lively teenager she is. ]

[Pause. Sounds almost like Vanille Yuffie doesn't seem to have any lying issues, but...the parallels are there.]

So she can handle herself in a fight, at least. That'll keep you from worrying yourself into the ground about her. [Maybe.]

When it comes to family, yeah. [A moment while she filters the feed, then:] You're not leaving Violet in such a rush just because Aerith got here, are you? It's about what happened to Kairi at the Tower.

Of course I am. You don't believe any of the crock they've fed us over the news, have you?

No. If I believed the crap any news feeds put out I'd have been dead a long time ago. [Headshake.] But that's not the point.

The point is you won't do Kairi or the others any good if you get there and you're so worn out you can barely stand, let along give your team coherant orders. You have to remember to pace yourself.

[ Oh, for crying out loud--he's a grown man, thanks. He doesn't appreciate that you think he needs to be looked after. ] I know my limits.

I know you do. And I also know you won't stop until you get back there and help them. Limits don't mean much when someone you care about is on the line.

[sigh. Best get this over with.] Look. I'm just saying to not do anything too reckless until we can get back to Goldenrod and make sure they're alright. It's still a long ways even if we ride.

[ His turn to shake his head. ] And you're telling me not to worry. But this isn't about making sure they're okay; I know Kairi's on the mend.

This is about making sure we're there to help, when whatever is going to happen happens. There's no telling when that is.

I'm telling you not to worry because it won't help them or us. [He knows that just as well as she does, so she's dropping that topic here and now.]

Exactly. Whatever happens could happen tomorrow or two weeks from now. Rushing back there and wearing ourselves and our pokémon out isn't going to stop whatever will happen and it only leaves us vulnerable. We can't take that chance with so little information.

I'm not rushing anywhere, especially not with a group this big. Steelix is strong, but that's still asking a lot. I said five days, didn't I? That's the average travel time, on foot.

[ He isn't about to make a group half-composed of teens and non-fighters hike up a storm. That'd be mean. ]

Provided everything goes according to plan and the weather holds out like this, yeah. You're prepared for if it doesn't?

[Leon is stern, not mean. She knows this, too.]

Everyone's responsible for their own gear, but we'll handle whatever gets thrown our way. Not much else we can do.
