Another one of those weekends.

[ Leon doesn't sound entirely unhappy, mostly just...tired. Resigned. Beside him is Skarmory, looking distracted, but certainly more chipper than her trainer. ]

Don't know how we got to Cianwood, but I decided it'd be best not to let it go to waste. The gym here uses Fighting-type pokémon, so Skarmory didn't have any trouble.

[ Skarmory chirrs, satisfied. Leon scratches her throat absently. He holds up the Storm Badge, watching it glint in the light before tucking it away. ]

She can Fly, now, which means she can carry people on her back. Or she's supposed to.

[ He remembers the last time all too clearly; he'd wound up in the Sprout Tower moat, along with Kay. Luckily, that hadn't been deep, but this was the ocean. And Leon can't swim, but he's not sure if he wants to just accounce it publicly. ]

Is there anyone in Cianwood who'd be willing to give Skarmory a test drive? Someone...smaller.

[ Another wind catches her and she banks sharply in the other direction. They appear to be heading for the water before she rights herself, and begins to rise.

She croons encouragingly to Hayate. Keep holding on, Mister! She's getting the hang of this!

Leon's heart does a little dive when Skarmory seems poised for a dive, but he visibly relaxes when the pair pull up. ]

*Encouragement helps! It helps a lot!! Even if Hayate can't particularly realize it is encouraging due to that sudden roller coaster ride moment. Once he survives this he is going to tell Leon to invest in some kind of harness to hold onto cause there is no way he can picture a guy like that clinging to a metal bird for dear life.

... then again, maybe that's why he wanted someone else to break her in...

And yes. Azure has definitely upgraded to hiding her eyes. Only peeking through her paws every few seconds to make sure doom has not fallen.*

[ Leon gives the poor Lucario a sideways glance. ]

[ Ten points for Hayate! This is indeed why Leon wanted someone else to man the maiden flight. Hopefully by the end of this Skarmory will be flying considerably straighter than she started out.

Now is not yet that time, however, and Skarmory does some more zigzagging, letting the wind carry her up and down. It takes a few dips before she's secure and, at least, flying at a relatively stable height. Not necessarily in a straight line, but it's a start! ]

A-At this time I would like to thank my stomach for being iron cast and not susceptible to weakness...! *Since really. All that zigzagging would definitely be making a normal man be full of ten different regrets about what he ate for lunch and dinner that day. So instead of regret, Hayate shall just continue clinging to this bird and do his best to stay as centered as possible on her.

[ Skarmory appreciates the effort Hayate is making, because she calls to him again. She only very lightly to the side this time, with more purpose, bringing them into a lazy curve, carried by the wind. There, this is better! ]

*... it is better!! In fact Hayate is relaxing significantly now, the death grip clinging turning into a more lax grip but still a... very firm one.* Haaaa... Starting to feel less like a roller coaster and more like a bumpy bike ride...

[ Now that Skarmory's starting to get comfortable, she's also starting to get more adventurous...Hayate, you might wanna tell her a passenger flight and a solo flight shouldn't be the same thing. You know, before she dives.

[ As soon as he sees Skarmory drop, Leon cups his hand around his mouth and bellows: ]

[ His voice carries over the water and surprises Skarmory, who abruptly stops diving and gets back to cruising altitude. Seeming to realize her misstep, she glances worriedly back at Hayate and offers a reassuring chirp. Okay back there? Does he want to get down? ]

*Hayate just... slowly loosens his grip once Skarmory gets back to cruising, his face a portrait of nervous laughter.* Ah... ahahaha... I-- I think I'm officially qualified to be a test pilot for any and all flight capable creatures after that one...

[ Skarmory appears to have gotten the point that passenger=no looping, so she remains at cruising altitude and gently makes graceful arcs over the water until she feels totally comfortable. She begins to take a little bit of altitude, climbing slowly towards the puffy white clouds.

Suddenly, the music from Aladdin starts playing: I can show you the world... ]

*whooooa this is high up. Very high up and very pretty...*

Uwaaaaah... I suddenly get the distinct feeling that I should be quoting song lyrics...

[ Skarmory winds around, making sharp but comfortable banks left and right, the sunlight glinting off her wings as they move. Can you reach out and touch the clouds, Hayate? Are they puffy? ]
